La Cinquecento Ltd
Scattante might look like a 1970s Fiat 500, but very little underneath has been left in the 70s. The starting point is a 1973 car; the engineering underneath is entirely new.
Built from the ground up, it’s a serious reworking of one of the most charming cars ever made. The proportions, simplicity and unmistakable character are all still there; underneath, almost everything has been reconsidered.
At the back sits a Fiat 126-derived engine, keeping the original rear-engined, transaxle layout, with the engineering developed around response, balance and making the most of a very small, very light car. The result is a 500 that feels every bit as good to drive as it is to look at, and that character gave Scattante its name: lively, responsive, quick on its feet.
Each one is built to order in tiny numbers, combining the charm and simplicity of the original 500 with the sort of engineering it always deserved.
